Vault Manchester made its exciting debut as part of the prestigious World Indoor Tour, and it certainly lived up to the hype. The competition was stacked with talent, featuring a thrilling mix of potential winners and fierce rivalries.
Nemiah Munir Sets Personal Bests to Win
Nemiah Munir took the women’s title with an outstanding 4.27m clearance on her final attempt, setting two personal bests throughout the event. She was closely challenged by Poland’s Zofia Goborska, who also cleared 4.22m—marking a personal best to finish second. Tilly Hooper joined them on the podium, jumping an indoor personal best of 4.22m for third.

Men’s Competition: A Thrilling Battle of Personal Bests
The men’s event followed a similar pattern, with Mark Mellor delivering a series of personal bests. His final clearance of 5.22m secured him the win, with Jaan Bal and Adam Hague also clearing 5.22m. However, Mellor’s fewer attempts at the key heights earned him the top spot, while Bal took second and Hague finished third.

Event Highlights: Records and Rising Stars
In addition to the fierce competition, the day also saw a new French Women’s Masters record and a standout UK junior performance in the men’s event. Many athletes participated in their first-ever pole vault competition, further showcasing the growing reputation of the event.
A big thank you to all the officials, volunteers, and supporters who made the event a success. With over 100 athletes—from beginners to elite competitors—across six countries, including Ireland, France, Belgium, Poland, and Estonia, the event truly had an international flavour. More than half of the athletes set season or personal bests, contributing to the excitement and success of the day.
We look forward to returning next year with an even bigger event, plus additional summer competitions—watch this space!
